The Garrett specimen I presume? Had the North American Mint become a reality we may be spending Quints today instead of Dollars....neat pattern with an interesting history.

Holy cow! Wonder what it will sell for this time. Looks like it last changed hands in 1979, $55,000. [checks wallet] Nope, looks like I'm a few hundred thou short this time. Maybe a couple million short. Time for another 'guess the hammer' contest? |

I was at the auction last night it was quite the experience. I was also fortunate enought to preview this one...let me say my hand was shaking a bit while I looked at it.

Wow! That must have been such the experience! I have to confess I enjoyed it with they auctioned this one more than the 1913 nickel.

I can't even imagine owning such a thing, which I'd never want to let out of my sight. I'd spend as much on the moat and alligators and laser security and and and...as I would on the COIN. Ya know, assuming I had a couple million to throw around on such things, which I decidedly do NOT.
