I, too, once bought coins from Littleton's "Coins On Approval" system - until the packages became very expensive. I contacted Littleton, and requested they remove me from their "On Approval" program. No problem - except the coins kept on coming in the mail, and, being coins, I just HAD to look at them. That became an expensive "look" because I had to pay return postage.

My mailman advised me that, if I didn't want a specific letter or package, to write refused on the front of it, and send it back - unopened of course. Took a couple of returned envelopes, but they DID quit sending me coins on approval.

My opinion: Littleton does have nice coins, and their staff is pretty much "on the money" when it comes to grading. My only complaint would be in the pricing department. I believe, if they reduced their prices, they'd sell more, but, then, they've been in business for alot of years, so.....

I was receiving there Coins-on-Approval service for awhile to finish my Franklin half collection. There prices are a little higher than what I would pay at my local coin shop. But there grading is spot on in my option. I stopped the service because I found that I could purchase the coins on ebay at a much better price.

I dealt with them Pre Internet days, there was not as many dealers available then. I did Coins on Approval, I thought the prices were a little high but the grading in Circ grades was good. In those days getting coins in the mail and sending a check was the easy way to do it. Now with the Net and everyone making money with it it's a whole differnt story.

I dealt with them once, I bought 2x2's. I wouldn't purchase coins from them. Their prices seem a little high.
