Another nice find! I'd guess XF40 from the pics.

I'm guessing XF40 too. Crisp details with the light wear on the high spots. I dig the subtle woodie toning too!

Better pictures would help, but I'll work with what you have posted. Personally, when I grade, I start with a grade below what my 'gut' tells me, then work my way up. According to the Bible:

VF-30 -THere are small flat spots of wear on cheek and jaw. Hair still shows details. Ear and bow tie are slightly worn but show clearly.

This coin is much crisper in detail than that. Moving on,

EF -40 - Wear shows on hair above ear, on the cheek, and on the jaw. High points of wheat stalks are worn, but each line is clearly defined.

My review of the coin, obverse and reverse, shows a bit of wear on the very tip of the stalks, some above ear, cheek and jaw. I would not say this coin is undergraded at EF-40.

EF-45 - Slight wear shows on hair above ear, on the cheek, and on the jaw. High points of wheat stalks are lightly worn, but each line is clearly defined.

To me, this sounds about right for your coin. However, I'm not finished.

AU-50 - Traces of wear show on the cheek and jaw. Traces of wear show on the wheat stalks.

I also consulted Photograde (PCGS) and am similarly stuck between EF-45 and AU.

This is where having better photos would be helpful. I personally think this coin could go AU-50, but I can't quite make out the extent of the slight wear I'm seeing. With better pictures, it might be in AU territory. Given the photos, I'd go with:

EF-45. And a very nice one at that.

Another very nice example in a tough coin. The obverses are usually pretty mushy and the reverse can have little detail. This year/mint is one of the worst Lincolns made and this coin is very nice.

Thanks for tolerating my horrible photography... I have enough trouble with raw coins, and taking photos of slabs is almost impossible with a pocket camera and a desk lamp.

EF40 is how this one came back.
