Over the past 9 months ebay Australia has made some extremely great changes to the ebay system and the cost to use ebay.

There is talk from ebay that we are going to spit from our Asia partners and form our own Australia & New Zealand ebay. I hope the good changes keep happening and we do not go backwards.

Quotes from our ebay concerning the changes.

ebay Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd Management Changes
SYDNEY, Australia - ebay Vice President and leader of ebay's Korea businesses will lead ebay Australia & New Zealand Pty Ltd from July following a decision by current leader Vice President Deborah Sharkey to move to ebay's global headquarters in San Jose, USA.

Jooman Park joined ebay Korea's subsidiary Internet Auction Company (IAC) in 2002 and has led ebay Korea for over 8 years, helping to grow IAC and GMarket into Korea's leading online marketplaces.

Sharkey joined ebay's Sydney team in October 2003 and has led ebay Australia & New Zealand Pty Ltd since December 2008 helping to grow ebay's position as Australia's leading online marketplace. ebay has over 7 million Australian unique visitors a month (Nielsen NetRatings).

"I've enjoyed four great years at the helm of ebay Australia & New Zealand Pty Ltd," Sharkey said. "Having worked almost my entire professional life in Australia and Japan, I am particularly excited about returning to the US to continue to work for ebay."

Senior Vice President and General Manager ebay Asia Jay Lee said of the changes: "Deborah's leadership has enhanced ebay's reputation as a great partner for businesses of all sizes and a favourite shopping destination for millions of Australians. Deborah's agility, results-focus and inexhaustible energy for ebay will continue to serve the company well in the USA.

"Jooman will build on the excellent progress the team is making in defining the new Australian retail landscape," said Lee. "By successfully partnering with businesses and establishing online retail standards in Korea , Jooman has driven ebay's Korea businesses to market leadership positions. This experience will help boost Australian ecommerce for the benefit of local businesses and consumers."

Hi lincsus.

That is the million dollar question. We are now listing all our lots as BIN lots at 20c a listing. An auction listing at 99c still costs 50c.

Quote is from January 2012

Quote:
eBay .com 10c for gallery image and a auction listing cost under 99c.
ebay .com.au 90c for the same listing.

The quote below is what happened to us in July August 2012

Quote:
With an Australian address and listing in our USA ebay.com store became impossible to work with. The biggest issue was they stopped the listings of Australian collectables on USA ebay .com going to the country of the collectables origin. So no listing showing up on Australia ebay .com . We found ticking the box adding the listing to UK ebay solved the issue and our listings could be found by searching on Australia ebay again. 4 days later we could not access our listings for over 3 hrs and when we could access our listings again, we did a search on Australia ebay and none of our listing were showing up again. Our bidders have all but disappeared because of all these changes that have been going on for close to 3 month now. Our income has suffered greatly and the stress of trying to figure out the why of all this is a very real issue.

We have closed our USA ebay store and started up an Australia ebay store. The change-over will take another 3 days. Our new listings are getting good exposure but our old listings are still dead in the water. We figure it will take a couple of months before things straighten out and people can find us again.

With our Australia ebay store many things have changed. We have a featured store that costs $24.95 per month but on the 15th Sep will change to $49.95. Our 10c listings are now 50c. Our ebay cost for the sale price was 9% and now we pay 6%. We have also got a Top Rated Sellers status back. We have had to add a bit more to the costs of our collectables.

Listing with Australia ebay and all the listing fault of when listing on USA ebay are gone. The browser setting stays the same instead of having to reset it with each listing. The title description no longer repeats itself, so no more cutting and pasting, to get the right title description in the right place.

This is the only way I could sort this mess out. I still feel very strongly that ebay is going to get me a lot more buyers than anybody else. What a journey! Onwards we go!

From the 1st May 2013 ebay Australia is changing fees for sellers with stores. Having a featured store you get 200 free buy it now or Auction listings. Store cost stays the same.

Auction listings that are now costing 50c will change after your 200 free listing to $1 under $100 per listing and $1.50etc

BIN listing after 200 free listings stays the same at 20c per listing.

Final value fee goes up from 7.9% to 8.4%

With Australia ebay I have not seen any free listings in the past 9 months.

ebay is trying to squeeze every single cent out of the sellers. But then there is no real alternate to ebay and ebay knows it very well. They will keep raising the prices till the level sellers just give up any hope of making an honest profit or till the time some decent competition shows up.

After much stress I might add I have found the way for us to go with the new ebay changes. I have post a lot of personal info. It might help someone or show others how there ebay treats them compared to ebay Australia.

Our ebay bill for March Amount Due:AU$527.31c For the last 31 days. Selling collectables as a featured store with the inferior BIN listings.

Last 31 days
Sold 384 items
Unsold 1487 items
Current listed 428 items

To save some costs:
We are not listed 60 items Tues
We are not listed 100 items Fri
We are not listed 100 items Sat
Could increase listings per week by 260 items.

Increase listings by 1,000 per month & relistings 500 lots per month. That is a conservative increase of 1,500 listing per month.

New changes for ebay Australia we can list everything auction style with a 7.5% final value fee if we change to an Anchor Store Package on the 1st May 2013

Anchor Store Package ($499.95 a month) - UNLIMITED FREE Fixed Price listings and for collectables UNLIMITED FREE auction listings. (USA ebay is $200 for an Anchor store)

Can change back to the $50 feature store for the extremely slow Jan & Feb selling period.

We would have to be crazy not to change over with the new billing changes that ebay Australia is starting on the 1st May!
