I don't know Aussie coins very well, but it certainly looks like a wavy to me! You might need to post the picture in the aussie coin forum. I'm sure there are loads of blokes who'll be happy to help.

1930 Dst. I know what you are meaning as I read the other thread (or discussion if you like) on Nancy's link above earlier where she had posted some comparison pictures and I think you had added some additional pics. I now see you've just added the extra pics as you had done in the other disucssion to this one. (I'm glad as Í wanted to have another look at them myself). PS: Try not to use full word capitals as it is considered yelling.

I still can't decide whether it's real or not. (Not that, that means anything 1930 Dst as I'm as blind as a bat ). There seems to be some flattening of the top of the base of the 2 and the upper curve in the wave seems to vary a lot between pics. (something I think Nancy mentioned previously). Might have to get Trout to go to the shed.

With a genuine 1966 wavy 20c coin, the wave in the base line of the 2 is reflected in the edge of the water swirl immediately above it. In the images you've supplied, the reflection of the wave in the edge of the water swirl in the first close up looks different to the same area in the second close up. I've taken the liberty of editing those 2 images to put them together so you might see what I mean. 1930 Dst's 20c 1966 Wavy Close Up of 2 Duo Using the first close up as a guide, I'd say it's a genuine wavy, but there's this tiny bit of doubt when I look at the second image. These coins have been known to be ‘doctored' to look like a wavy. A thread is when someone starts a new topic or discussion, and you had actually started 2 threads both relating to this coin, and that's why one thread was deleted. I had posted in the deleted thread, and what I've said above is pretty much the same. Just saw your new pictures, and I'm now convinced it's the real deal! Congratulations on the find and to the forum.

Thanks for that but still .I just posted a few more pics just then, Have a look again? I'll put some more in the morning. Is there any given photo shot that will help bring out the right angle? Ps, one the pics you highlighted was in black & white! is that my bad? B&W photos can cast shadows along the image lines. Maybe that is why the lines have trouble matching? Cheers.

I really dont think additional pics will help. Youve already posted a lot of good ones. It is without doubt genuine IMO.

By way of an explanation: I started my above post prior to 1930 DST posting the most recent set of pictures, showing 4 close ups of the base of the 2. I was trying to make the post as close as possible to my original one that was deleted in the other thread. Before I finished, I realised 1930 DST had posted more pictures, which proved to me that the coin was a genuine wavy so I decided to leave my post as it was and just added to it. Hence my words 'the real deal'. Sorry if I caused any confusion, no further pictures needed, you have found a most desirable coin.
