Finally tracked this one down, originally part of the Robert Krill collection, and had traded hands three times in the last year, before landing in mine. It is currently in a NGC MS-64 holder, but this one will soon find a home in a PCGS holder, and be placed into my showcase set. The Blakesley effect is subtle, slightly more noticeable on the reverse. This is the only straight clip nickel dollar I have ever seen or heard about... For those interested in my PCGS showcase set, you can find it here: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/sho...aspx?sc=1621 "Discovery follows discovery, each both raising and answering questions, each ending a long search, and each providing the new instruments for a new search." -- J. Looks like and end of strip blank to me, except that the Blakesley Effect is not present. This penomenon need not NECESSARILY be present, although with a clip of this extent, I would expect to see it. However, I also can't see metal stress adjacent to the clip, which would indicate PMD.

The link is correct, but I guess PCGS does not like other web pointers, and spits you out to another page. I just tested it, and I can't even link you to the set registry page from here.
On the PCGS home page, click on the tab 'Set Registry', then, click on the bottom tab on the left side, called 'Collectors Showcase', then click on Errors, and open the SPP Nickel Dollar Errors.

That's a beauty SPP to go with your super collection. No 78 clipped dollar? Edmonton had one for me! I'll put in new thread.
