Hi All,

I have airtites and lighthouse coin capsules but I'm looking for ones that are more like the capsules from the RCM or Perth Mint. Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't really like the lighthouse ones because of the edge that sticks out.

thanks in advance.

The Royal Mint currently issues silver and gold proof coins in acrylic screw capsules, of a diameter that suits the individual coin. These encapsulated coins are sold individually or in sets, depending on the NCLT Mint product.
Sometimes, these proof sets are broken up by the dealers, and the coins sold separately to make a greater profit.
Also sometimes, these capsules are recovered and sold separately by the dealer for a dollar or less.

I have a gold proof 1937 George V1 Five Sovereigns in a crown sized screw capsule in a fitted case, modified by myself.
The Five Sovereigns of 1937 was never issued in a screw capsule, and only issued in a 4 coin gold set, way back in 1937.

thanks for your reply Sel. I was hoping for something easier to obtain. DO you or anyone know of any other brands?

I have seen a variety of brands at my local dealer. Some of these capsules are press together, some are screwed together. If you live remote from a dealer, a ring around may help to find the guy who may be able to supply you.
I prefer the screw type, I feel that they offer more positive protection, especially so if you are protecting a thousand dollar plus coin.

Prepare a list of the numbers and diameters of the coins you wish to encapsulate before 'phoning around.
