Hi All,

Has anyone lost an auction on ebay and then have a few days later a "Second Chance Offer" show up in your message inbox? I have never seen this before and I have lost tons of auctions and just now I got 2 of these Second Chance Offers in my inbox from 2 different sellers within 24 hours.

I have sent messages to the sellers asking them if this was indeed from them. Very strange and e-bay warns of these kind of messages.

A second chance offer is the opportunity to buy something you unsuccessfully bid on. The seller can choose to send one of these for a couple of reasons:

1. They have more than one to sell.
2. The original high bidder did not pay for the item and they do not want to relist it.

I have used it many times before for both of these reasons.

I actually got an email earlier this morning for a ebay second chance offer.

The email didn't show up on ebay, under my messages. I think it's a scam that's going around.

Ok Will check on that. Thanks

Went back on E-Bay and the Second Offers are in My E-Bay section so I guess its legit. I want the 2 items as well so I might take them up on it.

Thanks everyone. John

Go check ebay. If the offer is there under messages, then it is valid. If it is not there, then it is a scam. Send your money through Western Union and forget about the money and the item. You may get a thank you for supporting a Nigerian prince though.

Anytime you do anything on ebay or paypal always do it through their actual websites. Any legit emails or offers sent from either will appear on the sites as well. If you dont see it give them a call and theyll either confirm its real or tell you where to send it to their fraud department
