Very nice.

The 1921 Pilgrim is the tougher of the two dates with a net distribution of 20,053 coins. The 1921 date carries a significant market premium versus the 1920 Pilgrim up through MS65.

Similar to your lovely Lexington-Concord ... need your eyes to examine the high points of the design and advise of any circulation rub.

On the obverse ... check Governor Bradford portrait and the brim of his hat. Might be the photos ... but is that wear on the hat brim directly above Governor Bradford left eye?

On the reverse ... check the stern of the good ship Mayflower.

If wear is noted ... a lovely AU58 slider.

In general the coin is amazingly free of bag hits and distracting mint handling marks. The open obverse fields are about as clean as a Pilgrim comes ... I'm finding very little that would hold this coin back from gem MS state ... except ...

The unfortunate rim hit on the obverse at 7pm ... which is enough of a distraction IMHO to hold this lovely coin back at MS64.

Wonderful addition to your collection ...

David

The rim ding is my major concern as well. No signs of wear or luster breaks on this coin either... note the reeding hit on the hat, I think that pushes it to 63. Still, for $16.67 ($50/3)....

The coins were clearly mishandled by an unknowing individual. I'm assuming the seller (who appears to run a pawn shop) was just interested in silver value. They came to me, together, wrapped in a paper towel taped with scotch tape!

These are the only two classic commems I own besides this Stone Mountain (Which is definitely AU) that I bought for $35.
