Hello Everyone,

I know the 2x2 coin holders are a standard way to store your coins. But, what about the Air-Tite holders that seem to better protect the coin from outside elements?

Are the Air-Tites in keeping the coin "air tight" slowing the natural toning of the coins?

I know cost is a factor, but which is better excluding cost?

I was just wondering what the community thinks/prefers, Thank you for your input.

Funny but I use neither. A cabinet for my best coins, it holds about 1200, linder trays for my roman denari and coin envelopes for everything else.

2x2s will show toning after years of storage if they're not stapled shut correctly or if the coin is simply too big for the flip. The flip should not "bow" into a curve but it should be flat enough to seal off any air. It helps if it's stuck in a binder page for extra sealing. Airtites I would imagine are better at this but I hardly ever use them because of A)cost and B)space.
