The date position and the mintmark look right. I believe I can just make out the "rabbit ears" in the R and the die scratch in T of liberty. Surfaces don't seem to totally original but I am thinking there may be just enough "meat" for it to grade a problem free VF-30. If not already certified, consider getting it certified by either PCGS(preferable) or NGC. Sweet coin!

VF25 to me too many hairline scratches, though I don't think it would be detailed at a TPG, nice key date coin!

Certainly needs a trip to a top TPG. If it grades clean it will likely be netted down 5 points for the hairlines. That would put it around VF25 as westcoin noted. You might get lucky and get a VF30 though.

you guys are good! Coin is NGC VF25 most of those hairline scratches are on the slab. Thanks for your guesses. Bought it about 2 yrs ago for a long term hold to see if price appreciates a bit. Not sure if thats happening and am considering trading it in for gold or silver bullion. Not sure. Any thoughts on this? Jerry
