. Do correct me if I have provided incorrect information as I am very interested in gold coinage during the period.
1. Anastasius I (491 - 518) to Romanus II (959 - 963). Gold solidus of around 98% (24 carats) weighing in at 4.4g
2. Nicephorous II (963-969) to Nicephorus III (1078-1081). Issued gold histamenon that was slowly debased from 97% AU (24 carats) to 36% AU (9 Carats)
3. Alexius I (1092 - 1118) to Alexius III (1195 - 1204). Started issuing Hyperpyron (Curve coinage) of 87% AU.
4. Alexius IV (1204) to Michael VIII (1261-1282). Debased the gold content in the hyperpyron to 50-75% AU.
