A little about what I'm doing in the introduction section here: https://goccf.com/t/146734 Long story short, inherited a coin collection from my late Grandmother, and I have a lot of coin I know nothing about. So, daily I'm going to post a picture of a coin and try to better understand why my Grandmother kept it, and perhaps some history behind it. Today, I bring you a 1985 D Mint penny. Wow! Poor picture quality. From a cell phone....any tips for taking better shots with a cell phone? (lol) Any who, any input on this coin...history, why my Grandmother kept it, etc....would be awesome! I'll find out. I wanted this to be my first bit of research, as I don't understand why she would have held onto this penny. I'll search around with the family. Report this Post to the Staff

They aren't special to anyone else, but I like to collect Stone Mountain Memorial Half Dollars (my avatar) when they turn up. I have 5 of various qualities, with a bid on another.
