1927-S looks about VG-8, value in the range of $16.-$18.

, VG-8 although not very strong for that grade. These coins sell for common-date, bullion-related prices, even though the mintage for the 1927-S is a fraction of that for most dates from the 1940's.

$15 seems fair. Add it to your pile of upgraded bullion. It's a lot more interesting than the 1940's coins even if it's no numismatic rarity.

Although it's tough to tell from the picture, the obverse seems to be much more worn than the reverse. It looks like two different coins. Is that just the picture, or is that the way it looks?
