I was browsing ebay and came across this Trade dollar. I haven't seen one liek it and it appears the seller has it listed as a genuine.

Looks like one of the Judd patterns.

That said theres two listed on ebay and I believe both to be fakes. Both are the first things that the other person has sold, and I dont know enough about these to comment on the pictures. I just know most ebay scams are run by new sellers like this

EDIT: Just comparing the pictures to the heritage one the leaves look off, the hat on the stick looks off and so does the ground and really all of it actually if the heritage one is the only version of that design

Thanks for the input basebal21. Comparing it to the one you listed the coin on ebay looks faded or mushy, the details kjust aren't there, especially on the reverse in my opinion.

Completely agree, too much detail is missing that should be there that just isn't. The stars look real worn but parts of it look untouched theres just no consistency like you would see from actual wear.

Both of those listed currently should probably be reported. Id do it right now but like I said I'm not very familiar with these so Ill let a little time pass to see is someone who knows more about them can vouch for those

Looks like a Chinese fake to me. The mushy strike is, at least in part, due to die clashing. Note the outline of Liberty's head that's visible on the reverse.

I believe so, tokenmast. The clashing is most evident on the reverse, below and around "In God We Trust." One can see the upside-down outline of Liberty's head, with her nose opposite the "0" in "420."

I emailed the seller and he says it is "100% genuine" and that he has even more rarer coins that will be listed.

Well, he's had his chance to pull it voluntarily, then.

I had a kindly exchange with the seller about this item. He pulled the item and replied as follows:

"You are absolutely correct! Thank you so much for your professional insight!"

I wish that all sellers were as receptive and kindly as this seller is!!
