are there different versions of Penny Whimsey? which one is recommended for an old copper collector that is looking for a reference to describe the various varieties. I have seen them priced from $25 to $450.

I think the 1958 is a revision of the 40's book. The 1990s one is just a reprint of the '58.
I could be wrong.

Yes quite a few different publishers, the Quarterman edition is pretty good quality, I paid around $30.00 last year for a copy on ebay.
