Hello, I am new to the CCF Community and I was actually looking for a bit of assistance trying to figure out the authenticity and value of this coin that was handed down to me from a family member in Peru. As far as I know the coin is an 1807 Carolus IIII Dei Gratia worth 8 Reales, I have confirmed that the edge of the coin does have a circle/rectangle pattern around it. I have attached two photos of the coins front and back. Any more information as to the actual worth of this piece would definitely be appreciated, thanks!

Nice start to a collection of 8 reales. Your coin is a common date/assayer (Bolivia, Potosi mint, assayer PJ. As for value, with the hole and the graffiti on the obverse, only a small premium over silver value.
