Hi guys, silver just dipped a quarter or so and I thought it would be a good time to stop by my LCS to pick up 3-4 ounces of silver bars.
would this be a wise decision to buy some at this price, please share your opinions, thank you.

Ask me in a few years and I'll let you know if your decision to buy (or not to buy) was a wise one or not...

There is a huge debate going on RIGHT NOW in the forum about that. Some people see silver going down, others not so much. The general agreement is that is is probably good to have some for the long term.

Beyond that it is hard to say. If I had the money I would get some. But I don't bet the farm on it so it isn't a big deal for me. Plus I am thinking more in a 30 year time line.

There are a lot of numismatic deals out there to that make it hard to stack silver right now.

If you are going to buy,buy in $1000 increments or 100 oz at a time to reduce your premiums.

I would say sure why not? Plus you are only talking about a relatively small lot not much bad that could happen really.

If you have NONE, I would say sure. I mean, 3-4 ounces is around $100. Not a huge gamble in my books.

Depends on your situation. For me I want to see ASEs under $30 but it all depends on why and how much you are planning to buy.

I would agree 3-4 coins theres really not much risk in that amount. Even with a crash the savings on your future buys will far outweigh any losses

Couldnt agree more, so many of the markets are down from where there were its hard to ignore them. Maybe that is their new price line going forward but theres a lot of upward movement in those if the markets start going back to a few years ago

Silver is about 75 cents above a one-year low price right now (down from $7.00 higher than right now) and the future is absolutely unpredictable. That said, it's now decision-making time. Good luck!

And when silver was around $40 a lot of folks were fawning over $200 an once silver also.

I say buy it if you want it. I am going keep buying as long as the price stays below $30. But then again I was a silver bug when silver wasn't cool.

You might as well go to the shop and see if he has anything interesting in stock.

Tim: The "RIGHT NOW" was supposed to be funny. I've been following the thread yup posted and I find it humorous.

SilverDollar: sodude has a good point, I went in to look at my local coin shop to see what there was and things were pretty bare. They had some 'junk' Canadian silver and some 'junk' U.S. silver though.

You have to do what you feel comfortable with. While PMs are a gamble, they will always have some value or worth, unlike a stock which can go belly up. I would just buy if you want to have silver, it is fairly low at the present time. I am lucky to get 'junk' silver still at my local shop in any face amt. They have raised the premium a little, but still a fair price. Let us know what you do!

Only advice I can give you is to go buy a 1 ounce silver maple leaf or a ASE , hold it , look at it , smell it if you want and you will have your answer ....

Looking at the up n down oscillations over the past six months silver appears to be on a downward trend. Despite that and despite thinking silver may well fall much further, I still went ahead and bought now, because I feel there's great long term potential for it to go much higher. So tbh it won't even bother me too much if it does drop all the way down to $10.
Plus who knows what's around the corner, some things can override even the traders plans, like a major earth disaster event, or the flip side, a new discovery of the biggest gold and silver cores the worlds ever seen.
