Does this coin grade at MS69? I think the spot above the I is on the 2x2.

I think 2X2's accumulate a bunch of schmeg from being handled. To get a better idea of what yours grades at and to avoid the tiny marks in the plastic, you should view it out of the 2X2.

If it has been handled and stored in a 2x2 for a while, it is seriously doubtful that it would make PR69 (that is a proof, isn't it?) With that said, I would imagine a clearer pic show probably a PR65 or so coin.

Thanks for the opinions, I too did not think it was 69, but not sure, I'm new to grading and have tons to learn. Parklane64, I just had to buy this, I was at Sturgis 50th Anniversary Bike Rally and this 50th Anniversary of Mt. Rushmore reminded me of that trip to SD. I loved it. Beautiful place.

I dont know if you have all had the pleasure of visiting Mt. Rushmore, but it is truly amazing. I have actually been there twice.

Unknown fact, the plan was to carve all of the president's bodies down to at least their waist. I cant remember if they were planning on going down to their feet or not. When the architect died they decided to stop construction.

In Illinois they are currently planning on carving a Lincoln, though I cant remember where.

FYI Mt. Rushmore is amazing, however I do not think it will make it too much longer. We compared pictures from our two trips around 6 years apart, and there was noticible heavy wear on the rocks. As much as they do to prevent it, it is only a matter of time until a major crack, and mother nature, thats down this amazing monument.

Great coin, thanks for sharing.
