This question has probably been asked before, but I'll venture to ask it again.

Is there a future in saving the ATB 3 roll sets that the mint puts out?

I'm asking this question even though have have two sets of rolls (P &D_ for each quarter that has been issued by the mint plus at least one roll for last year's issue for San Francisco for each coin.

I guess I'm really asking if I have made a mistake in getting these rools? I look at what's happened with the State Quarter rolls and do wonder if the same thing will happen to the ATB rolls.

Future value is impossible to predict really, if I could do that I would stock up on those things

Some of them do have real high mintages like the State Quarters while others have lower mintages which is good. The question is how large will the collector base for them be?

Out of all them the S probably have the best chance of getting a nice price jump.

As far as was it a miatake, if you like them I would say no. If you only got them to make money then it could be.

The three roll is cheapest per roll value wise. If I had money, I would have bought 5 of them.

Yeah - the article was interesting. The fact is we really don't know if the trend is going to continue through the year or if it is a spike to replensih coins - and will fall off the rest of the year. It is too early to tell what is going on.

denco7 the article that you posted was quite interesting. However I am wondering if the mintage that Harper is quoting is for both mints or if all 3 mints are involved?

I do believe that I will keep on plugging away at accumulating both the quarters from the mint as well as the ATB's that I find in circulation. But the ones that I find in circulation go first to my circulated set, then the one good looking roll that I have for each coin. I'm just trying to put a MS quality roll together for the future. Who knows?

Thanks for the responses.

Even with the new higher mintages, one key difference for ATB Quarters vs. State Quarters is that ATB's aren't available to banks as "commemorative" issues.

And the Federal Reserve distribution of Quarters to circulation is nothing like it was back in the State Quarter days. Even the newer high-mintage ATB issues are almost impossible to find in many parts of the country.

Both of these facts argue in favor of saving ATB rolls, regardless of mintmark or even mintage. Yes, they made 176,400,000 White Mountain Quarters, but how many of them have you received in your change or at the bank for face value?
