My Barber quarters are all VGs and thought I would like one with full "LIBERTY". What would you grade this? I think it is VF-25 all though looks like some pitting and it needs a soak in acetone because of the PVC damage on the reverse.

Details are VF, but there's a lot going on there.
The surface of the reverse is all wrong, scratched real bad. That's not something cleaning could repair. Also, a little rim damage on 12 o'clock and a drop of some liquid.

You probably did good for 12$, but I wouldn't bid on this one just due to the reverse's situation.

My suggestion, put it for sell for 20-25$ BIN (I'm sure someone would bite), add a few bucks and buy a problem free coin.

Yeh, maybe I will put it up for sale for the price you said listing it as a "VF Details". Could use a swim in acetone and distilled water first to get rid of that PVC green stuff at least. I could always start the bidding at $20 with a BIN of $25.

I can't see ebay at work, does the reverse have the Type II or III? Look at the wing tips and how much of the wing tip covers the "E". The Type II does not go beyond the "E", while the Type III does. I asked this question a couple years ago and did not get any response from CONECA (fifth subject down from the top, if you are interested);

Type II

1900-Barber-Quarter.
Type III

1900-Barber-Quarter.

I am considering keeping the coin since it looks much better in hand but I may soak it in acetone to get rid of the gunk and green stuff on the reverse. I tend not to care about dings and scratches on circulated coins but do see the scratch you are talking about.

Interesting and cool, I did not know about the reverse types on Barber quarters. I love CCF for the knowledge we all learn every day here!
