I've found a lot of cool stuff in the last month but this is right up there. I'm dying that it is holed because it is such a cool piece and its in incredible shape. The Crowned Lion with whiskers, teeth, and clawed feet not to mention the poodle like tail is one of the most animated Lions I have ever seen on a coin though I am far from an expert. Would love to have any details on this piece.

This is what I dug up:"1747 Dutch medal commemorating the unification of the Dutch provinces under one stadtholder - Prince William of Orange and Nassau.

Composition: Brass
Diameter: 37mm (larger than a silver dollar)
Weight: approx. 14.8 grams

OBV: William of Orange facing Left.
OBV Legend: WIL.CAR.HEN.FRISO.PR.VAN.ORANJE.FN.NASSAU
REV: Rampant lion of Nassau.
REV Legend: STAD.DEN. DER.VEREENIGDE.NEEDFRLANDEN. + under lion: VOX. POPULI.VOX.DEI 1747"

So, nice rampant lion!

Just looking at the lion and arrows I immediately said "Netherlands." Not bad compared to the information provided by fioti.

I do like the Dutch lions.
