Today while shopping (with the wife) at Old Navy, I found this 1983-S PROOF Nickel just lying on the open floor. I have been finding all sorts of coins lately. I found 2 pennies in the Walmart parking lot, which isn't all that uncommon. Last week I found a 2013 Dime as I walked into my Organic Chemistry class. The weird this is, the very next day before lab time I found another dime in the exact same spot on the floor! It was a 1977. I'm going to start scanning the ground on a regular basis. :-) [/URL] Edited by Darth Morgan 04/13/2013 8:54 pm

Wow! Now that is cool to find. I know you didn't ask the grade but it looks proof-62 because of the scratches. I think I bought one for like 50 cents. Not every sure.

Nice find.
I usually don't find change even when I am on the lookout but one say I scored 40ยข total from 2 banks and the parking lot at work.

I once found a proof in a roll. One in the wild must be twice as exciting. Congrats and good vibes on your search.

I'm always looking down and finding stuff. There is a penny embedded in the blacktop of the parking lot of our local supermarket. I keep forgetting to bring a screwdriver to dig it out while the wife stands guard so that no one runs over me. She would probably die of embarrassment.

I think finding "lost" money is pretty easy. I always found lost coins when I was in the USA. I once found a $5 bill outside of Lincolns home in Springfield, IL. I thought that was a cool find. The other day I found three 10 avos coins from Macau outside my apartment here in Shunde. I thought that was an interesting find. Still finding a coin not made for general circulation is awesome. PS, I wish I could make a living finding lost money. I've heard there is thousands of dollars out there in lost money. Hey Darth, how about starting a thread where people can report finding lost money. We could get an idea of how much money people lose or find as it were.

I found a 50 at a save on foods and kept it then later spent it. At school I found a 20 and the teachers made me put it in the lost and found. I then got it 2 weeks later because no one picked it up. Stuff like that gets pretty annoying.

I think I have more luck than most when it comes to proofs, in the last 8 months, I've found 9 of them. A '74 cent, '76 nickel, bicentenial quarter, 5 State Quarters and an '04 SILVER proof dime.

I have yet to find silver in the wild, but I hope I can share that story someday.
