Strange Die Lump On 1866 Nickel Three Cent

I was looking over my 1866 and noticed a very odd die anomaly which I've never seen on a coin. The first I on the reverse has a mound at the top. A quick search, and I found this image, which is from the same exact die. What is going on here?
