Yes quite a price tag nice coin though, not 100% sure if genuine but I'm sceptical of all coins on ebay these days.

Seller has a rather strange connection with at least 2 other sellers of acetoned notes, and I wouldn't touch his items with a 4o foot pole.

Not happy with this coin.

I have a 1937 Five Pound of of George V1, which has a residual cameo effect on both sides.
(not like the modern contrived cameo finished coins.)

The coin for sale here seems to be polished all over.
The Coincraft Catalogue warns that forgeries of the proof 1911 issue of George V exist, and they can be detected by the details being a little indistinct. That seems to be the case here, but for fair examination, much better pictures are needed.

The extremely rare AUSTRALIAN Five Pound coins have the dates 1887 (Victoria JH) and 1902 (Edward V11) only. They have an 'S' mintmark under the horse's right rear hoof. The 1911 George V coin pictured does not.

This coin is being sold as a single. According to Coincraft, most of these coins should still be part of complete sets.

Gee, for $65000 you would think he would throw in free postage, not an additional $20 for registered post.

Yes, he's cancelled it now and relisted for $60k.

Well reported there Nancy, had started something similar myself but wasn't happy with my words ....... perhaps I was speechless for once.

Even if it were real, Arthur Daley would be proud ...... 2900 pounds to $60,000 ...... a nice little earner.

All been said 60k stands out a bit on ebay so why would you sell a fake for that price. Hes on crack or is just asking for trouble.
