All of the old rules still apply:
Buy if you can, sell if you need to, with regard to price.

The actual decision to execute a buy or sell should be governed by current needs at the time of the decision.

Unless of course, you are driven by greed or terror, as the case may be.
Unfortunately, emotions usually result in poor decisions.

I can't answer for Sel But the round Aussie 50 cent coin is NOT a bit Numismatic item and is generally regarded a purely bullion coin and I doubt that the Ming Mang Mint would bother to fake these
There is a seller in Melbourne selling these for a lousy $8.50 so not a real target for the Asian Counterfeiters

Trout is right.
The current spot price would feed instantly into the relative value of the '66 round silver 50 centers.
I have eleven of these in the most common condition, which is good EF. The Chinese wouldn't bother with these. The RAM made 36 million of them; they have no numismatic value at all.
In my case, I don't even have the slightest inclination to either buy more, or to sell the ones I have.

I also have quite a few fake silver coins of Chinese manufacture. The fake provincial Chinese dollars that I have, I definitely will NOT be selling, they were given to me, and they form part of my 'dark' collection of fake coins.
Fake coins are definitely worth collecting, provided the price of their acquisition is appropriate.

They are probably the best way of educating yourself, to identify fake coins. 'Hands on' experience is essential.

I also have about 100 fake ancient coins, for the same reason. Most of these were purchased in two job lots from an auction.
