I posted this in the nickel searching thread but I wanted to get the opinions of some of the error guys so I am posting it here also.

I checked on Heritage auctions and I found a similar coin to mine that sold for $862.50, that was slabbed and graded MS64. Mine will NOT grade that high, but is this coin worth anything like that?
Thanks for looking.

I think we'd better wait for Mike to chime in. He has an excellent article here CW.

He states that an original piece most probably has an "elevated wire-rim" to differentiate from acid-etched pieces.
Your thread pattern seems consitant w/a cleaning rag & not a bag used at the time.

That is a wonderful example. What an amazing find. Yours has a great, defined pattern and covers 100% of the obverse which is highly desirable among collectors. Although it isn't worth as much as the one you reference, it is still a valuable error. It is a shame about the Rolling Machine Damage, though. That won't help the value. Still, it's very cool. Nice find....

Yeah, that damage just kills me. Oh well. Would it be worth having this graded and slabbed?

I would have it graded and slabbed, especially after Mr. Diamond said it looks good. If you're looking to sell it I would say that's a must.
