Thanks Cownick for your input. Hope I get a few more opinions to confirm if this coin is worth certifying ...

Looks AU to me. Lighting could be a little off, but there appears to be "circulation fuzzies" in the fields and the high points.

I have always struggled with the worth of sending a coin in for grading. I guess that it all comes down to personal preference and whether or not one might consider selling the coin in the future. I have a Canada Cent 1955 NSF I pulled from circulation not to long ago but I just can not bring myself to send it in for grading. It is by no means a MS coin but the variety holds nice value even in the lower grades.
coconet : What is the determining factor for you as to whether or not you send a coin in for grading? In Canada for ICCS...the shipping alone would cost around $24 (Please correct me if I'm wrong) as I heard you must ship express post and pay for the same return shipping. For me...the cost of shipping alone makes a major hit for the value of the coin. Do you know what ICCS charges to grade a particular coin...lets say you want the variety labeled and the coins value is $250.
Thank you in advance for any info you give and as always...I appreciate hearing others opinions.

For the blue mark...Is there any corrosion or other foreign matter attached to the coin that you can see under magnification?

Hi Cladhunter13, As for grading with ICCS I used them on a regular basis. I ship my coins regular mail for about $3.00. Maybe a little risky for higher value coins, however I never ran into any problems. The return shipping is about $13. They charge $11 per coin for 6 or more coins and extra $2.50 per coin for non-standard variety (e.g. non-magnetic). I normally send coins for certification either to test my grading skills or it is a coin I believe would increase a few folds in value once certified. As for the blue mark, it may be some toning ... not sure. Thanks for your reply. Cheers

Your welcome. I always look for others opinions especially when it comes to an area of the hobby I have no experience with. It is very helpful.
I'm not sure if I could send in 6 coins and not pay for the safer shipping. I have been tossing around the idea of sending in the 55 NSF with a few 2006 NPNL Magnetic and one or two other coins. So...if I send in 6 coins with express shipping both ways. Each coin would have a non-standard variety clarification. So it is 13.50 per coin = $81 + I'll call it $26 for round trip shipping which totals out to $107.00. Each coin has a cost of $17.83 respectively. I'm just on the fence if it is worth it to me to have a coin graded that I intend to keep. I can see the value for a 2006 NPNL Magnetic if it is in high MS condition. I just can not decide if it is worth it for the 55 NSF I pulled. I guess I will have to take a couple of pics and post it here to see what members think.
Thank you for letting me talk it out. LOL! Getting coins graded is a new thing for me. Decisions...decisions. :)

Hi,
Thanks for your opinions, I will get this coin graded since it is a hard variety to get in Mint State grade. Hopefully it will receive a MS grade.... will inform you of the outcome over the coming weeks.
Others opinions are always welcome !!

Your coin is mint state, the reverse leaf points and King's eyebrow speak to the typical weak strikes that one sees in the George VI one-cent coins. I would guess MS-62, trace red.

Thanks SPP and happy to see you are close to my estimate. Still accumulating coins before going to ICCS (except for my 1914 $5 Gold going to PCGS). So any other opinions would be greatly appreciated !!
