It has been a while since I have been able to score silver at face, but today was the day! I got ten 40% halves from the store down the road on the way home this afternoon. I ended up with (1) 1965, (5) 1967, (1) 1968-D, & (3) 1969-D. Sorry about the bad pic, I took it with my phone.

This guy saves all the Halves, $ coins, and any other out of the ordinary stuff that comes into the store. I have gotten Red & Blue seal bills, an ASE, a couple of Morgans, foreign coins, tokens that he takes as dollars coins ( really do not want them but give him a buck for those anyway), as well as an awful lot of other silver U.S coinage. I have tried to give him a fair price for the stuff but he will only take face even though he knows they are worth more than that.

Cool guy!! I have found some tellers like that but most know about their silver value and keep them for themselves. I only way I have found any is in unsearched rolls. Most have been searched so it has been quite a while since I have found any silver. Congrats on your find!!

Unless, of course, the guy you're getting these from is working as a server at a donut shop. I bet he'd be sick of donuts in no time.

It's getting to be tougher and tougher to get silver on the fly. Nice pick-up!
