Hi, my acme scales I bought off the internet just broke so I can't weigh some items; does anybody know the mass of a british sixpence of recent times? Would be very helpful to me. Thanks

The weight of a 1967 Six Pence is 2.8 grams, that's the newest one I have. Hope that helps.

according to tclayton's useful UK coin info site, the post decimalization cu ni six pences are 2.8 g and 19.00 mm in diameter.

Yav', I don't think that could be post-decimilisation sixpences since there weren't any of them at all post-deci'- this is 1970 we're talking about here. But there would be a difference in weight between the cu-ni ones and the ones prior to a certain year in 1940's.. which were made largely of silver..

Their is CCGB 2007 good book and world coin catalog.

1947 upward cuni

1920 to 1936 .500 silver 19mm 2.876g

1902 to 1920 .925 silver 19mm 3.01g
