Almost looks like the same picture to. Did you send a pic to the person running that site? He could probably tell you something.

Greg Davis would be one good contact. Let us know what you find out.
I looked through the Lyn Knight recent auction of North Dakota notes and didn't see a red seal in it. It was considered a rather complete North Dakota collection from Jorde.

To maximize its value, I would send it to be TPG'd, then you could send it to either HA or LK auctions. This would get the best audiences to bid on this note.

There is really no reason to get it graded. It has rust so it will net graded. It is obviously in very fine condition, so I am not sure that getting it graded adds any value at all. You also might want to ask Jorde how auctioning worked for his North Dakota notes. He got killed. Nationals are best sold directly to dealers who specialize in national bank notes. The idea that you are going to get much more money at auction just isn't true, especially when dealing with items worth less than $10,000.

Jim61 - The Jorde sale had several red seals. I bought a serial #1 red seal from Carpio, ND for $7,500. It was in better condition and far rarer. Other red seals sold for $2,000 - $5,000.

nationals, thank you for your incite. These are outside my area and was speaking more general terms. The TPG comment is because the auctions like them because there is no returns on graded notes. If this is truly unique, then yes, TPG is not necessary as its rarity of being the only one known trumps the grade or eye appeal of the note.

Greg Davis offered me $6500 for it but its worth more to the family than that.

Interesting, $6,500 is an exceedingly high offer. If I were you I would make a high quality copy and sell the original.
