I just learned that Stack's Bower Galleries is offering a free one year basic membership in the ANA for first time applicants. There was an article about this in Coin World this week and I downloaded the application. In addition to the basic information they want to know a lot about your collection, buying habits, etc. Not unexpected questions under the circumstances, I am sure this is designed to bring in new customers. Is anyone else aware of this- I was a member many years ago but dropped out because I felt they were getting orientated away from the average collector and seemed to be catering to the investment faction. I wouldn't mind trying them again but not sure if I can as a former member. Also the basic membership is for the online delivery of their magazine, I would prefer a hard copy, maybe they'd let me pay for an upgrade. Just throwing this out there... |

A basic membership is I think $28, this company must be doing well to give away memberships like this. I wouldn't mind the online magazine if I had a laptop. I don't and like to read my mags at my leisure on the patio or in bed, for that matter.

Coins 1989, thanks for the heads' up!! I've been meaning to take an ANA membership for a while and just have not gotten around to doing so. No excuses now. |

I will mail mine in tomorrow. I may wait until I get notice of approval then ask them if I can upgrade to a regular membership by paying the difference. I like hard copies of my magazines.

Coins1989 the ANA would be glad to have you back as a member. So, why not give them another chance and if you want to have a hard copy of the Numismatist all you have to do is upgrade your membership. Ed ANA LM-3175 |
