I hope you didn't pay gold price (hundreds of dollars) for it, since I highly doubt it is made of gold. Brass replica spade guineas like this were commonly made in the early 1800s as playing card game counters. The "wrong" letters, "G.S.T.", are probably the initials of the manufacturer of the counter.
