They are worth very little as they are brass gaming tokens. You might get £1 for each one.

These are card game counters, similar to the one you posted here, although much more obviously not a coin. The "1797" date is spurious; these pieces were actually made sometime in the 1800s, long after genuine spade guineas had disappeared form circulation - hence the reference to "the good old days".

Since they're not coins, I can't give you a coin catalogue value. And while there are books that cover these sorts of items, I don't have any. The best I can do is show you some completed ebay sales for similar items. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-x-George-...em20d1fa73e4Here/url] is a set of five tokens in similar condition to yours, which sold for AU$12.50. That's AU$2.50 each.

As the others have said, they aren't worth a great deal, though they are fun. They are based on the George II 'spade' guinea (from the spade-like shape of the shield on the reverse) and I used to have one which was modern - Well, made in the 1970s anyway! So they may be rather more recent than the 1800s.

Fun as a pocket piece or as small gifts.. or, as they say, mementos of the good old days!
