Sold Mercury dime plaque, Indian Head penny Plaque f/ profit. Talked a guy down on Craigslist. Then resold on Craigslist. Made 10 bucks! whoo! just ten but it adds up. Keep looking for deals guys. Lots of people just dump coins and other stuff when they inherit them. That was this guy's story. Joe

If I saw you relisting something on CL that I had just sold you on CL, I'd be meeting you again and you'd probably leave unhappy. Just sayin.

My guess is that Joe is posing as a coin collector, not a dealer. If people on CL are looking for coin dealers to pass their coins on to, then they would go to a coin dealer and not waste their time on CL. A vast majority of people selling coins on CL are either dealers, or people who care about their coins and want to pass them on to a collectors.
basebal - do you think that people meet others on CL knowing that they will turn around and put their items back on CL? Would that make you happy? Think about it. And I don't see much merit here in Joe bragging about taking advantage of someone else.

I don't care what he does. The seller must have been satisfied with the price if he/she was willing to let it go. Still, I don't think he should go around bragging to the world.

I'm glad you're happy... seems like a lot of work for $10, but as the saying goes "it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick."

And I don't see much merit here in Joe bragging about taking advantage of someone else. He didnt take advantage of anyone they got a price they were happy with and he barely made any money off it. Dealers take far more advantage of people every day offering pennies on the dollar for coins and no one has a problem with that. People meet on CL because one person is trying to sell to another. They dont care what happens to it after that. If they were so worried about it they would have never sold it in the first place, given it to a collector for free, or yes sold to a dealer who would have likely offered far less to it. If I sell something and I'm happy with what I got for it thats the end of that. Once its sold you dont own it anymore and have no right to dictate what happens with it. You cant take the money for it and still claim ownership in that regard. If I saw it on CL again I wouldnt care at all I got what I wanted for it and its no longer mine

I buy coins on ebay and turn round and sell em. Everybody flips on ebay, I see no reason not to do it on CL.

I don't see any reason to fault a guy for flipping some coins on Craigs List for a mere $10.00. If he bought the coins and turned around and relisted them immediately on Craigs List for more than double what he paid for them that would be different and would not have been proper since the guy who sold the coins would probably find out and think he was taken advantage of.
