Hi. I would like to preface this by saying that I have no knowledge of coins or collecting what so ever. Several years ago I was given a set of 2001 commemorative silver dollar American Buffalo coins that where minted in Denver and uncirculated. They have come in a box along with a certificate. I was wondering if anyone knew what the value might be and if not where I could go to value the set of coins. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The 01 set is very popular and its should be worth a couple hundred. If youre looking to just sell it and move on ebay would be your best bet to get top dollar for it

Your lucky, that particular set of commemoratives are among the most popular. I am assuming you have the 1oz Proof and UNC set. They have one at my LCS for $350. Most sets I have seen at auction go for @$300.00.

The last 10 or 12 sets in original packaging to sell on ebay sold in the range of $250 to $300, with the majority of sets in the range of $270 to $290.

I'm confused: You say a "set" but then say "uncirculated" A set would include one uncirculated and one proof coin, buth minted in Denver. The certificate should indicate what you have.
These coins are very popular and continue to fetch high bucks even tho the mintages are well over many other commemorative silver dollars. They are still missing from my collection.

Yes, a two coin "set" one proof and one uncirculated. The Unc was minted in Denver and the Proof was mint in Phila.

There is an MS70 set on the bay now for $1649 if your interested.
