John Adams Dollars slated for distribution Thursday May 17th. Do they ship on May 17th or do banks start distributing them on May 17th? I remember seeing pictures of the Washington Dollar boxes with the "Do not open until .." stickers on them.
Another question for ya, on the mint webpage it says the Washington dollar rolls and bags will be available for 13 weeks after release. Will they stop selling these items this Thursday?

The banks have them already. They are not *supposed* to release them until May 17, but some people have already reported received them.

I just heard from both a coin dealer, and a bank teller, that the coins wouldn't be released until May 22.

Cannot confirm or not, but I know I went to the bank Tues. 5/15 and picked up the Adams dollars. I called first to see if they were in. Went thru the drive-thru and had no problems. They said they have had these for over a week. LeAnn

Nope. That's not my last name. It doesn't even begin with a Z.

Got two rolls of Philadelphia Adams dollars on my lunch today. I opened my one roll and checked them out. I only had a few minutes to look at them but overall I think this coin is person looks a lot better than the pictures of it do (the design on John Adams).
The quality of coins seems to be the same. The obverse of just about every coin has very noticable scratches, lines and dings. I do not know if they are more noticable because they are gold, but it sure makes it challenging to find a good looking coin.

I got some Adams rolls today, will distribute individual coins at my local coin club meeting tonight. Quality is the same as the D Washingtons last time around -- crummy.

I picked up two "D" rolls of the Adams Dollar this morning.
I'll put one roll away, and give individual coins from the other roll to our kids, grandkids, and friends. The left overs will be fun to spend.
