With the top 4 grading companies out there, is there a difference in the quality of the seals?

I'm looking to get 1 coin graded and sealed. Money wise it may not be worth it but its just for me. I want to have it professionally graded ( not that I know how to do that even) and sealed up to preserve the coin. Not sure of difference between the plastic graded and sealed coins or graded and slabbed coins.

This is completely new to me and reading many posts researching it, I know what companies to be looking at why certain people recommend them... but just always nervous about getting into something that I'm not used to. Advice, help and comments are welcome. Thanks guys and gals. CHEERS!

None of the slabs are full proof when it comes to preservation, but if you store a PCGS or NGC coin in a good spot you shouldnt have any issues with either of them.

As stated above none of the slabs are full proof. I've had PCGS go just like NGC and ANACS. Now every slab goes into a 3x4 Ziplock with the top zip cut off and folded over and then inserted upside down into another 3x4 Ziplock with zip left on. Never had a coin get any kind of corrosion or toning doing it that way.

Just my opinion.

I know that sealed by a grading company is perfect, but I pet its better than a 2x2. Been looking more and asking around. Seems like a bit of a pain to get 1 coin graded. Hate you have to be a member. NO one in this area are members so I cant take the coin there either

I would say without a doubt they provide more protection than a 2x2. Getting a single coin graded is quite expensive and hard to justify unless extremely special or real high value.

I know silvertowne lets you submit through them though I've never used it and cant vouch for it at all.

Your best bet might be to wait until you have more coins youd like to send in then do it

Honestly, if you expand to the top-5, SEGS provides the best seal, completely airtight, and darn near indestructible. Ask anyone who's tried to crack one out. And they are the only ones that guarantee their attributions! I've submitted to them a few times, and nothing bad to say (except they can be a little liberal on the grade. If you go to sell it, accurately graded or not, most people will try to knock it down, but they do that with NGC, ANACS and ICG anyways.)
