Hey everyone I saw this concept used on a couple of the other forums and thought it would be great to have one of Australian coins. The basic concept is that everyone can post pictures of their coins so we can hopefully have an example for each date and mint (varietys as well if you want) for decimal, pre decimal and any other Australian coins (goose dollars included).
So the basic rule is that each member can only post pictures(reverse and obverse of one coin count as one picture) of 3 coins a week (to give everyone a chance to post pictures of their coins and make everyone feel like a part of it). You can post them all at once or how ever you like over the week.
The main idea is to get everyone to post their coins for everyone else to look back on and enjoy and hopefully for reference for people new to the Australian forums.

Thanks OP for starting the thread, its got me reading up on coin photography trying to get some nice images to upload. I don't have any gems like some of the other coins here but I do like my rams head shillings: I captured these with an Olympus FE-26 using the super macro setting with the coin sitting in front of me on my desk under a single lamp. I've read that two lamps are better than one. Rob.

I think with the first coin I managed to do it justice but not this one. Maybe its the angle I had to hold the camera. I nearly didn't post this but then I would miss out on the chance to learn, here it is: Thanks, Rob.

Careful Rob, photographing coins can become highly addictive, but a great way to appreciate the beauty of the designs.!! I have spent more time doing this than would be considered healthy but have discovered a whole new skill set. Enjoy- looking forward to your posts.!
