It was really that "Mike Fey" didn't register as the same as "Michael S. Fey" in my head, but there was that strange sense of missing something on the air.
When it resolved, he was really awesome and took it in stride. What's even better is that I found out he's relatively local and he has a number of good Morgan and other counterfeits in his collections. :-)

Oh, Dr. Fey...that explains it. It is moments like this that you really can't place a face to the name until it's too late. It's not like his face is plastered all over numismania like....what's his name...I can see his face but the name escapes me.  At least you met him, got the (signed) book and a story to bore the "you know what" out of non-numismatic individuals. Good on ya!  Edited by oih82w8

Been there, done that, and only got a lousy t-shirt for it...At least you got an autographed book for it. LOL! By the way, for a while, you'll try to avoid him at other gatherings...don't! I happens more to people than you think.
