anyone think with gold spot prices so low that buying these Indian gold coins is a good idea?

They'd probably resell once interest rates get higher and gold goes back up for double I think.

at $15 per "coin" (you are bidding on ONE coin & TEN weigh .4 gram) you would be paying $375 per gram.

24k gold currently going for $44 per gram.

I'm not a mathematician but I would have to say..... NO

And he only have 12 feedback ratings as a seller. I don't know if you care about trying to attribute them or not, but they look smaller then the other ones I've seen, meaning they are probably more worn.

Thanks for the replies. Ouch that is a ton for gold! Yikes you're right. I did the math too now. I think I'd be best off sticking to like a 1/10 ounce Gold coin from the US mint and waiting for gold to go up again if I want to re-sell it. whew.

i wonder how many people would buy these (or something similiar) simply because the picture shows 10+, thinking they are getting the whole batch?

Most coin dealers in Europe buy & sell 19th century gold circulation coins. Mintage numbers have been considerable and premiums often are lower than for many small bullion coins (1/4 or 1/10 oz).

Most gold coins for circulation were 90% gold with 10% copper.
20 Francs (6.45 g) has been popular and was minted in Switzerland, France and Belgium. On the UK forum you will find plenty on Sovereigns. Since the £ was the reserve currency before WW I, Sovereigns may be found across the globe.
