I just picked another obw roll of Lincolns and when searching for errors/varieties how many coins will you check before you say there is nothing in this roll.
50! I've seen one variety in a OBW roll, or another 19 of the same variety in another roll. In a OBW roll of 1960-D cents I found most of them were RPMs. I added up the value of $85 worth of RPMs from a $2 roll. That was the current price then.
when I first started looking for RPMs, I would check the roll through one time, then a few months later and go through then again and maybe a third time. My eye was in training. At that time I could get BU rolls from different years. I still have them to check again...Someday....
with coop. Check every one and as you get used to searching for rpms, check again. Yesterday I searched through a roll of 1955-D and found 3 good rpms and several more than go into my jar of minor/could-be's for me to check again at a further date.
If your into just RPMs, another world you might get into for doubled dies. Save them till your ready to check for these. When you get the right coin is under your glass, you will know it.
The 1962-D's have a damaged punch on the lower serif. That is common.
I'm glancing through them finding ones with the same die marks and when I get them all in 2x2's I'll check again. Thanks again everyone for the help I'm in to any variety when it comes to Lincolns I'm gonna purchase another roll of 1960 SD maybe I'll find something good.
