This 1982-D Cent looks like an RPM but with exceptions: the split serifs are difficult to see and next to impossible to photograph. If you look closely and "use your imagination" it might be possible to find them. The location of the D to the 9 and the 8 matches 1MM-008. However, whatever it is that is going on inside the D does not seem to match up with anything! That's probably important, isn't it?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Pete

Thanks for your suggestions. No markers on this coin to help. How do I tell if it is copper or zinc?

I found the answer: weight. I guess I'll have to buy a new scale!

I was able to persuade my scale to work - looks like it is Copper. How does knowing that help me with the RPM question?
Thanks,
Pete

And by the look of the "2", it's a Lg. Date...

...and also because no Sm. Date copper exists.

At least not to date anyway.
The 83 copper never existed either for the longest time.

LCR says send coins to CONECA where they will attribute and then send on to ANACS for grading. They do have options which do not include sending them on for grading. Looks like postage and fees could total in the neighborhood of $15 without grading. Or they say send to CopperCoins. I have not yet checked their prices. Seems to me the cost might exceed the value of the coin? What say ye?

$9.00(attribution and return shipping) for a single coin, multiple submissions would save some on shipping.

My apologies! I thought I had seen it on their website - but I have searched for whatever I saw and could not find it! If I do find whatever it was, I will post the link. In the meantime I must rescind the statement with deep apologies to all concerned! I have removed it from my post. Senility is no fun. "Getting old ain't for sissies!"

IT is the CC Forum which is merging with LCR - not the whole site! I made a mental transposition of the information - no excuse for that kind of carelessness...here is the info

Apologies again,

Pete: What is going on at 4:00 on your close up image. If it were an east RPM, you might see a spread there?
