This is a fake widows mite that pops up every now and again. Theres a few on the ID forum.

I forget where they come from though

Yep, it's a replica Widow's Mite, a famous "biblical" coin. This particular type is mass-produced and sold by religious supplies stores; here's some for sale for $1.50 each.

I really wish things like this complied with the Hobby Protection Act and clearly said "COPY" on them somewhere; they're one of the most confusion-causing replica ancient coins out there. Once they're given away in church or Sunday School or wherever, the context is lost and people have no idea or recollection of what they are. Do a CCF Forum Search for "fake widows mite" and you'll find over a dozen threads with examples of this very replica posted here on the forum, just in the past couple of years. Like this thread, for example.
