started to fall for gold eagles. Not too ezxpensive, large enough coins to show great detail...and it's gold

anyways, would these circled marks make it a deatils coin? I think it also looks cleaned, but the seller says it's the scan that makes it look kind of off.

But I'm more interested in the marks I've circled..

thanks

The marks you've circled will not make it a "Details" coin. Soft as gold is, it tends to get a bit of a pass as regards marks of that nature. You can't tell surface originality from a scan, but the contrast between the open areas of the fields and nearer the devices does make me a bit nervous.

Thanks for your input Dave...

the seller has a return policy, so I might just purchase it and see if I like it.

and thanks for putting the dividing line between the post and "The best thing about a bicycle..."
I don't know how many times I started reading that line thinking it was a part of your post :P

Looks fine to me and might make AU50, XF45 anyway. Remember that the age and low survival rate do not equate to a high premium over melt in this case.

I think it has a good probability of grading problem free AU-50 maybe AU-53.

From my experience, these marks should not hamper the value of the coin. If you are getting a good bargain on the coin then you should go ahead and buy the coin. Don't let these marks put you off! This is because 2 of the 3 marks that you have circled are in the field area and not on the main design.
