Most likely they will come out with a $200 for $200 1 and a half or 2 oz silver coin before getting to the $500 coins.

It will be a 5 oz silver with a face value of $500....as opposed to a face value of $50?

Quote: It's already announced for October (silver). Like really for real? Quote: It will be a 5 oz silver with a face value of $500....as opposed to a face value of $50? Right now 5oz of silver is worth around $120, so that would be impossible unless silver dropped back down to $5/oz. Even then I would doubt it. The $20 for $20 had like 1/4oz of silver in it only!

Let compare apples to apples instead of apples to oranges 5oz Stampede, 5oz farewell to penny,5oz Silver maple leaf, and 5oz keepsake are all $499.95 whereas 5oz queen and 5oz beaver are above $500.

I would possibly buy one to make a set and I think 5oz coin would be very nice looking since they are big. But what I am afraid of is that I will not be able to find a bank to cash them in if I needed to or on ebay which the fees would be around $50.

I'd buy the $500for$500 all day long, even if it was a 1/4oz silver. It's about the face value not the silver.

I would be happy to see a $5 for $5 or $10 for $10 copper coin with a nature theme.

The $10 copper coin could have silver plating.
