I have tried several sites without success but want to try this particular forum for some help.

The one side of the coin shows a person, possibly a king, facing to his left with an arm out stretched holding something.

The other side has a few letters and/or symbols with what looks like a star or the sun with a few other features. The coin may actually be upside down on this photo. Not sure.

The coin is pretty worn but I'm hoping somebody can help identify. Thanks for looking!

Definite medieval silver. Nice find these are notoriously incompletely struck. I have the same coin, yours is nicer.

Denar issued by the Archbishopric of Trier Arnold II von Isenburg (1242-1259)

I truly appreciate your identification of this coin WJL! This tiny little silver was a tough one. Especially when parts of the coin are worn and there is not much to go on. Believe it or not, I found this coin metal detecting! A great find indeed.

Thank you once again WJL.

You are very welcome. Good luck detecting. I wish I lived in an area with such a rich history.
