For those out there who share my interest in 17th century British tokens you may like the following site which is dedicated to the private tradesmen's tokens that circulated in the city of London and its immediate environs between 1649 and 1672.

As time goes on I plan to post short write-ups and research notes of a random selection of tokens from this series on this site. The entries will be in the form of a blog so readers can contribute their individual comments on any of the individual posts within the site.

All the best for now

Welcome aboard, Antiquarian! Hope you find some kindred collectors here. That's a fine website you've recommended. I've bookmarked it for future visits. Thanks, mate.

Thanks for that Moderator!

I'd be interested in any other collectors who have a similar interest in 17th century British tokens. Most collectors specialise in the token issues from a particular county or like me, an area such as London and its immediate surroundings. Collecting by theme of token designs or issuer type is a further alternative approach.

Theses tokens are a fascinating series which date from the brief issuing period c.1649 to 1672. They span a very interesting period in British history from the time of the public execution of King Charles I, through the Commonwealth period and well into the Restoration of the monarchy under King Charles II.

Best Regards
