After researching today, I know now what the coin is but help with the grading/value and Should I send it in for grading or not? It seems there were different varities of this as well. This is another one from our inherited group. Thank you for the help.

I like these!, notice my avatar. Very nice Large Bust I know you researched but here is a link for others.... http://www.coins.nd.edu/ColCoin/Col...Y.intro.htmlI Would think it could garner $200-$350 for an interested party. Too bad about the scratch.

Amida I feel like an idiot, I've seen your avatar and of course didn't make the connetion. We have 3 but the other 2 are MUCH lower grades. I looked on ebay but there seems to be many different types of this coin. Thank you for the link, that's more information than I've located all day The scratch looks MUCH deeper on the pictures than in hand for whatever reason.

Your looking at a $175-200 coin. I would put it at or near VF25.

Are either of the other 2 small bust varieties? If you look at the W the bust on yours the bust extends past the W. On the small bust it ends before the W. I'll concede the price that Vermontensium qouted. I never looked on the bay...they seem to comand less there than at shows.

I'll check on the other 2 Amida, they are really worn. Vermontensium that you for the market value. These are the oldest coins I've come across so far and enjoy reading the history behind them.

Amida, I looked at the other 2. They appear to be the same with regards to the Bust and W in locations. Both are really worn, but look like all 3 are the same coins. Takes me a while to do pictures and didn't think the other 2 were worth posting.

ThisIsFun, thanks and I should use your name for my threads searching all of these. More fun that I've had in a VERY long time. The last few days we've been working on this bag which mainly are dimes. There was an inner bag which contained these bust coins and commemorative Halves. I'm trying to sort by series then years and rolling them. There were some rolls (out of some type of wax paper) but the wrappings were falling apart. We'll go to buy a few Albums today and search ebay for the others we'll need.
