I do not know the ottoman medals at all and am asuming that this is an Ottoman one. In research I have found some from the mid 1800's but nothing like this one. It is 38.40mm and weight is 25.1 grams. Looks and tones like silver but it does not have the silver ring to it and I'm not sure what material it is made of. Any & all help is welcome...

Hi, the obverse identifies it as Afghanistan. The reverse shows a 2 and a half (afghani). I'm not near my references at present so cant compare the size and weight.

1305 Year and regional year of 8
Denomination of 2 1/2

So all together it appears you have an 1894 Afganistan 2 1/2 Afgani and its a 90% silver coin
